Jahir is a post graduate (M.Sc.) in computer science and brings 20 years of ITEC expertise and global operational and business development experience to Public Library Online. He is a technocrat at heart turned entrepreneur. His experience extends to a decade in the financial services industry including investment banking and insurance sectors. This was followed by Retail and Supply chain management. He has a unique ability to enter new industries and gain expertise quickly.
He has been closely associated with publishing industries in the last 10 years. In respect of specific organizations he has worked for, Jahir has held various technology positions with Covansys, Infosys Technologies and Value Chain International to name a few. He currently operates out of London.Jahir combines a number of strengths, including programme management and product development skills, with relationship management and enterprise solution capabilities. He is passionate about client service, entrepreneurial in endeavour, and a visionary in outlook. With Public Library Online, Jahir’s focus will be to develop a strong and lasting relationship with libraries and publishers to effectively embrace the electronic content to the extent that it enhances the learning experience across all aspects of society.
Alex has over 14 years experience managing the development and implementation of IT and Business Solutions for Financial Services organisations, blue chip Retail and Utility companies.He has proven ability in delivering a range of solutions by integrating internal and external systems and vendor packages with strong experience in managing across multi-site and multinational development environments. Alex combines programme management with relationship management and enterprise solution capabilities to deliver the best solution for the client.
With Public Library Online, Alex’s focus will be to develop a strong and lasting relationship with clients.
Vasu has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry and has headed multiple projects and product development efforts. Recently, Vasu headed the Technology Excellence Group (TEG) for the Manufacturing Vertical in Tata Consultancy Services where he successfully scaled up and ran Technology Centers of Excellence for Microsoft, Java, Mainframe platforms and EAI, eCommerce and User Experience practices. TEG provides technology leadership and consulting to accounts and projects of several Fortune 500 manufacturing customers of TCS.
Prior to TCS, Vasu headed product and solution development in Value Chain where he oversaw the design, development and implementation of several products and solutions for the publishing industry. Vasu has also a headed software development center that had clients in Europe, US and India and has been in the Silicon Valley in the US for about 5 years, and was part of technology start-ups during that period.
Vasu holds a bachelors degree in engineering from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, Suratkal and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
Stephanie Duncan is the Digital Media Director at Bloomsbury Publishing Plc where she has lead Bloomsbury’s digital initiatives since 2000, starting with Bloomsbury.com and the first Harry Potter website that year. She developed Bloomsbury’s bibliographic database, managed the ebook digitisation and distribution system, launched Bloomsbury’s first ebookstore in 2006 and then negotiated deals with ebook retailers and aggregators, which she continues to do. Stephanie is also responsible for author contacts, Public Library Online, a streaming library service she launched in 2009 and Bloomsbury Reader, a digital first ebook imprint she launched in 2011, alongside other publishing initiatives.
